2 weeks to go

Eek!  How on earth did that happen?

I’m not finished buying presents yet but I’ve got a big chunk done.  I still need to decide what to get my parents but most other people are either bought for or decided on.

On Thursday evening I went to an open house at Words That Talk.  I’ve mentioned them before but I just love their stuff.  I got a lovely pink ‘ssshhh… baby sleeping’ canvas for my friends baby and a large wine canvas for my mother-in-law.  I may have also ordered a couple of things for myself!

For those of you with little girls, have you heard of Bread and Jam?  I’ll forgive you if you haven’t, they’re quite exclusive.  They only make a limited number of each dress so you’ll almost certainly not bump into another little girl wearing the same dress.  If you sign up to their mailing list you’ll get first dibs on their ‘Teeny Edition’ dresses which are even more exclusive.  I’ve not bought C any of their dresses yet as they start at age 2 but I think one may be her birthday dress.

I hope you’re all getting sorted now. I haven’t even managed to put my Christmas tree up yet. It was supposed to be going up today but our new living room carpet has been delayed due to the snow so the tree will have to wait until that’s been fitted (it’s due tomorrow *fingers crossed*).

I’m not even sure what I’m supposed to be sorting for the food, I’ve never done Christmas dinner before.  I’ve got some prawns in the freezer for our prawn cocktail and must remember lettuce & brown bread nearer the day.  We don’t think we’re going down the traditional turkey route as there’s only the three of us but instead have talked about maybe doing toad in the hole.  Classy eh?!

What are you doing for Christmas dinner?  Traditional or not?  I’d love to hear some of your ideas for Christmas dinner, the more unusual the better!
