Like a lot of people, the Christmas holidays have meant taking a step back from blogging and general ‘online time’ and spending time with family and friends. I hope I don’t sound odd when I say I’ve missed my blog. I managed to sneak a couple of photo posts in but that’s it and it’s been strange not to write any proper posts for a few weeks. I hadn’t realised quite how much I enjoyed it until now!
We did have a lovely Christmas though. C was quite confused by all the presents on Christmas morning although did enjoy ripping the paper off them all.
We did the obligatory visiting of parents and grandparents on Christmas morning although I suspect M wished he hadn’t drunk quite so much at his works get-together the previous afternoon as he wasn’t too bright until after dinner!
Christmas dinner was just the three of us at home for the first time. We didn’t go for all the trimmings and instead just had prawn cocktails for starters and lamb shanks for mains. It was really nice and stress-free.
The rest of the holidays were mostly spent at home. We went to a friends party one night, and finally managed to see the new Harry Potter film too.
We spent New Years Eve at home. My parents came round to see the new year in with us but it was a very civilised affair!
It’s back to work today and Christmas now seems like a distant memory. For me, January usually means working lots of hours so I’m already looking forward to February.
(If you’d like to brighten my January up a little, you could vote for me in the Brilliance in Blogging Awards. I’ve been nominated as a finalist in the Fresh Voices category and I’m really proud, if a little shocked! Voting closes on Friday 7th January and you can get to the voting page by clicking that badge just on the right at the top of my blog.)
