Why are tents so much fun?

I’m guessing everyone used to make tents and dens when they were young.  Me and my brother used to spend hours with old sheets either in the dining room, draping them over chairs, or out in the garden where we’d tie string between trees and put the sheets over to make our own little outdoor room.

C has recently discovered that tents are fun.  It started off with a lot of little help from daddy and a blanket which was wedged behind the radiator and hung over C’s little armchair.  She also decided her trampoline could be a tent or simply hide under daddy’s t-shirt and she was in a tent.

Fed up with constantly having to put this tent back together when she pulled it down we decided to go out and buy her one.  A quick look on the argos website and we found a little tent for just over £10.  It happened to be in the 2 for £15 toys range so we also got her the tunnel that goes with it.

She spent most of yesterday sat in her tent with various blankets and teddies so I’m hoping it’ll be £15 well spent.

If you read my blog last summer you’ll know we like to go camping and I’m really pleased to see that C has already got the bug.

I might have to start looking for one of those pup tents to take with us on our proper camping trips so she can play in it during the day.  Does anyone have any suggestions for one that isn’t too expensive but will last more than one summer?

Awww! I like the fact Oli likes this tent stage too! He’s always hiding out in his timmy time house tent thingy.. Though I’m not a big fan of when he’s using the clothes thingy as a tent!
