Brain Boosters: A review

By | April 7, 2011

Most of us are probably aware that we should eat oily fish regularly to get enough omega-3 through our diet but it’s not always possible is it?

Brain Boosters from Healthspan are chewy orange omega-3 capsules for children.  Omega-3 fatty acids are considered essential fatty acids, they are necessary for human health but the body can’t make them.  In relation to children, the thing we hear most about omega-3 is that it plays a crucial role in brain function as well as normal growth and development.  It also helps maintain a healthy heart and joints.

C has been taking the Brain Boosters for a couple of weeks now and seems to really like them.  Every morning when we brush our teeth she requests her ‘sweetie’ immediately after.  I did try one myself and have to admit they aren’t bad at all.  They’re not chewy like a gummy sweet, they have a chewy shell and an orange ‘burst’ of liquid.

The recommended intake is 2 capsules for over 3’s.  As C isn’t quite 2 yet I did look into this and compared them to the liquids that you get for the amounts per capsule.  Based on my findings I just give her one capsule.

You can buy the Brain Boosters from the Healthspan website.  They cost £9.95 for 120 capsules which I think is great value.
