Prestat Mini Egg Collection: A review

By | April 21, 2011

Did you know Prestat make chocolates for the Queen?

Yes, I’ve been eating the Queen’s chocolates, they were rather nice too!

I was lucky enough to be sent a box of their Marc De Champagne mini egg collection to try which consists of a selection of white, milk and dark chocolate, with infusions of pink and Kir Royal champagne.

They’re in a really cute little box, with purple tissue then in tiny individual cases and wrapped in coloured foil.  The packaging isn’t really the best bit though because they just taste fantastic.

They have a hard shell and a soft centre where you can taste the champagne but it’s quite a subtle taste, not too overpowering like some alcohol infused chocolates can be.  The chocolate is absolutely gorgeous too.  I, very begrudgingly, shared the chocs with the husband and he agreed that they really were very nice.

I wouldn’t be lying if I said these were probably the nicest chocolates I’ve ever tasted.  At £6.50 for four little eggs they’re fairly expensive but they’re the Queen’s chocolates and would make a lovely gift for someone special!

They’re available online from Prestat as well as at Waitrose, John Lewis, Harrods, Selfridges and other independent retailers.

They didn’t last much longer than that!
