The Pregnancy Test: Book review

By | April 26, 2011

When I was sent a pregnancy book to review I wasn’t sure what to expect.  I’d not bought any pregnancy books when I was pregnant with C, preferring instead to browse the internet for answers to any questions I had.

The Pregnancy Test has 150 questions that pregnant women may think about but be too embarassed to ask anyone.  Questions such as ‘Why is hair growing around my belly button?’ and ‘Why does my pee smell weird? are two of the more light-hearted questions in the books but there are lots of serious ones too.

The book is set out as a quiz, with either multiple choice or true/false questions with the answers being over the page so you can’t cheat!

When I received it I was expecting it to be a bit of a jokey book with all the answers simply being common sense so I was surprised to find that there were lots of serious questions, some of which I didn’t actually know the answer to.  There are lots of funny and embarassing questions in there too, lots of which I’d actually wondered when I was pregnant.

It makes a refeshing change from the regular pregnancy books and I think it would make a great gift for a mum or dad-to-be.  I’m sure it would help to ease some of the worries of an anxious pregnant woman.

The Pregnancy Test is due for release by Quirk Books on 5th May 2011 with an RRP of £9.99 but is available to pre-order from Amazon for £8.99.
