Monday marks the start of Real Nappy week, a week where users of reusable nappies are encouraged to tell the world all about it and encourage users of disposables to give them a go.
But why am I writing about it? When I was pregnant I did actually buy a number of real nappies which I was planning to use once the first few weeks had passed. For various reasons; tiredness, lack of support (hubby didn’t like the idea), laziness, weeks turned in to months and now C is 22 months and has never worn a real nappy.
In some ways I’m quite sad about this, and also annoyed at myself for never giving them a chance.
I do, however, have a chance to redeem myself just a little bit thanks to Bambino Mio. They contacted me recently to see if I would accept the Real Nappy Challenge. The challenge is simply to use one reusable nappy per day for a week. In the words of a certain TV presenter ‘how hard can it be?’
I’m quite nervous about it really, despite it simply being one nappy per day! They’ve very kindly sent me all the bits required to take on this challenge: 2 nappies, a wrap, liners, booster, sanitizer and lots of information, and all I have to do is keep them, and you lot, updated as to how I get on.
If you’d like to know more about Real Nappy Week visit the Go Real website for information on events, competitions and more. You can also visit the Bambino Mio website to find out more about their nappies.
