The first camp of the year

By | May 14, 2011

Last weekend was our first camping trip of 2011.  We were quite unlucky as, despite barely having any rain for the past 6 weekends, this weekend was forecast as wet.  Still, we decided to go for it, crossing our fingers that we had some dry spells amongst the rain.

Thankfully we’d decided to go quite early on Friday and we had a lovely day.  Saturday wasn’t so great although it was a nice afternoon but that night was awful and the rain kept me and M awake for hours.  Luckily C can sleep through pretty much anything so it didn’t bother her.

We’ve got a busy few weekends coming up with birthdays, holidays, weddings and of course Cybermummy so it’s going to be quite a while before we go camping again.  We’re hoping to make up for that in July though.

As usual, C was really good during the days but was a bit of a pain to get off to sleep at night despite all the fresh air and running around but we were expecting that as it’s all brand new to her again this year.

Our next booked trip is to a Haven camp in Filey at the beginning of July.  Our friends are taking their niece with them who’s a few months older than C so it’ll be nice for C to have someone to play with instead of us or the dogs!

Hi, I’m new to your blog and love new ones to read. My 1st ever camping experience was last year in the worst weather ever!!! I loved it, so we have upgraded the tent and are going in half term for the 1st time this year- I can’t wait and hoping weather is dry this time!!

Glad the bad weather last year didn’t put you off! It is fabulous when you get good weather but we’re not always that lucky!

Hope you have a great time at half term!
