Satay: Fusion Taste Team challenge #5

By | June 16, 2011

The next challenge for the Fusion Taste team was Satay.  I always believed that satay was the peanut sauce but apparently satay actually refers to skewered meat, fish or tofu served with spicy seasonings and sauce.

This recipe used the Worldfoods Turmeric Lemongrass marinade.  Simply marinade the meat you want to use for at least 3-4 hours (we used chicken and lamb and left it marinading in the fridge for 24 hours) then thread them onto skewers and grill or barbecue them.

This was absolutely delicious and the meat was full of flavour.  I’ll definitely be doing these the next time we have a barbecue; they’re sure to impress our guests!

You can also make a peanut sauce to enjoy with the skewers.  We didn’t make this as I don’t like peanuts but if you fancied a go, simply fry 150g of coarsely ground roasted peanuts in a little oil for 1-2 minutes then add in some Worldfoods chili coconut marinade and bring to the boil.

Worldfoods have a great competition on their Facebook page.  Just post a picture of your and your friends & family eating together on their wall and you could win a video camera.  The competition closes tomorrow (17th June) at noon so hurry!
