Book Sharing Monday: My Dad

By | September 26, 2011

I bought My Dad by Anthony Browne for Fathers Day 2010, knowing perfectly well that it would end up with C but I didn’t realise at the time just how much she’d enjoy reading it.

She digs it out from her bookshelf at least 2 or 3 times a week and it has now been read to her so many times that she can ‘read’ it herself.  I really like the book too. It features phrases such as ‘my dad’s as big as a house, and as soft as my teddy’ with the illustrations to go with these descriptions.  It also repeats ‘he’s alright, my dad’ after every few sentences.

It’s a great book, both to read and to listen to, especially when it’s a 2 year old that’s telling the story!
