Christmas Plans

By | November 8, 2011

Have you made any plans for the Christmas period yet?  We’re quite lucky that most of our family live in the same village so we don’t really have the problem of driving or having to stay over anywhere.

The plan for this year will be to get up and open our presents, just the three of us, then have a walk over to my parents and M’s parents before returning home to cook dinner.

C was only 18 months last year so we didn’t have a big Christmas dinner, we actually had toad in the hole!  Neither M or myself are big fans of turkey so I’m thinking of getting a small duck this year as we all really enjoy duck.  I really ought to be going and having a chat with the butcher soon to get that ordered.

After dinner we’ll probably have a few hours at home to let C play with her new things before going to either my parents or M’s parents, maybe even both, for tea and drinks.

It’s normally quite a chilled out day.  I’m really looking forward to it this year.  C is understanding more about it but isn’t old enough to have us up at 4am just yet!

What are your plans for Christmas?  Do you spend it with just immediate family or have 20 people round for dinner?  Is it planned with military precision or are you a go-with-the-flow type of person?

I’m actually excited for this Christmas. It is the first Christmas we will be spending as a family of six, and we are throwing away our fake tree and trying out a fresh one this year!!

Oh I’d love a real tree but so far my husband has refused as he thinks they make lots of mess. I will get my own way one day though!
