Being Grateful

By | August 8, 2012

There’s been some not very nice news around recently.

In the news there is the story of poor Gary Barlow and his wife losing their daughter which is just so awful. Then there is bad news in the blogging world with Kerry from Multiple Mummy being in a coma in hospital after suffering a brain hemorrhage and, closer to home, someone from my village was killed in a motorbike accident a couple of weeks ago.  It’s not someone I was very close to but I’ve known him practically all my life and it’s a great shame.  He was a lovely lad, a soldier, and had been to both Afghanistan and Iraq, a real local hero.

It makes me realise just how lucky I am to have my family around me, to be in good health, to have a wonderful husband and a brilliant daughter.  We don’t have buckets of money but we do ok.  The house still isn’t fully decorated after moving in two and a half years ago but we’ll get there.

My life isn’t perfect but I’m so grateful for what I’ve got.  We should all remember this more often.

I SO agree with you on this Emma. There has been such tragedy lately that it makes you reconsider what the important things are in life. Great sentiment x
